Electrical Services in Fergus
The Fuse Group provides residential, commercial and industrial electrical services in Fergus, along with agricultural and grain system electrical work. We are based in Guelph and serve Fergus as part of our service area.
Residential electrical services in Fergus
Fergus is the largest urban centre in Centre Wellington, with about 19,460 of the township's 35,520 residents in the County of Wellington's 2025 estimate.
For homes, our residential electrical services cover panel and service upgrades, EV charger installations, pool and spa electrical, generator and backup power, troubleshooting and repairs, and knob and tube rewiring.
Commercial and facility electrical work
For businesses and property managers, we handle new construction, electrical distribution, lighting and controls, troubleshooting and repairs, and generators and backup power. See commercial electrical services.
Ongoing support is covered under service and facility maintenance: preventative maintenance, scheduled inspections, lighting maintenance and facility upgrades.
Industrial and agricultural support
Centre Wellington's community profile lists manufacturing and agriculture among the township's key sectors.
For industrial electrical work, we connect equipment and machinery, handle distribution, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance, and provide generators and backup power. For agricultural and grain system electrical work, our scope includes grain handling systems, conveyors and augers, bin and barn wiring, and underground conduit and distribution.
EV charging and backup power
The right charger starts with the right electrical assessment. We assess your existing capacity before recommending a charger, load management or a service upgrade. See EV charger installation and generator and backup power.
Renovations, building permits and ESA electrical notifications
Centre Wellington's planning and permits page notes that the Township does not review or inspect electrical work and directs electrical permits to the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA).
So a renovation can involve two separate processes: a municipal building permit where one applies, and an ESA notification of work for the electrical. ESA states that an electrical notification is not the same as a building permit and that you may need both. Our guide to electrical permits and ESA notifications explains how they fit together.
